01Why vertical packs

Preconfigured instead of an empty form

A vertical pack brings three checklists, two dictation templates, two briefing topics and one report building block. All of it at beta stage, all of it open to review before use.

Ten signed packs

Every pack exists as a signed artefact. The signature shows that the content is unchanged; it says nothing about professional suitability.

The same evidence chain everywhere

The dictation becomes a defect, the defect points back to the recording and the photo. The industry changes the terms, not the path.

An observation stays an observation

The templates capture raw values, states and links to evidence. They never issue a professional, operational or official approval; a person does that.

02Industries and markets

Where Gewerkton is used

For each industry this page shows what is at stake commercially and which records Gewerkton produces for it. Everything described here is built. Gewerkton is new to the market, and the first pilot conversations are under way.

Ten industries have a preconfigured vertical pack ready. For the other eighteen the pack is still in preparation: the identifier names the planned pack, and no artefact exists for it yet.

Energy

The installations go up in the open, under time pressure and with crews from several countries; what has to be proven is whatever is about to be built over.

Wind energy

The heavy crane stands still most of the time, and who carries the standstill days is decided by the documentation of weather, delivery and handover.

For every construction day Gewerkton keeps a weather snapshot from the nearest official station, together with the distance to that station; components, assembly connections and covered states are captured with an identifier, a batch and a photo before anything is built over them. At commissioning the as built state moves across to the operating organisation without the construction organisation losing its own records.

Solar and photovoltaics

On an open field site it is not the prettiest documentation that counts but the findable one: per module field, per string, per batch.

The checklists bring module field, string and plant reference together, and the dictation template for a string measurement asks for the raw value, the unit, the method, the device and the weather, without judging the value. Crews from several countries dictate in their own language; the finding still lands on the same module field.

Grid construction

In line construction the earth covers everything that nobody recorded beforehand, and the route runs for kilometres.

Route, cable pull and joint handover hang on the chainage as a documentation reference, not as a survey result; cables, drums and connections come together through their marking and their photo. The shot before backfilling sits in the checklist, so that the covered state does not depend on memory.

Charging infrastructure

A rollout across three hundred sites does not fail on the standard case but on the thirty exceptions that were documented differently everywhere.

Site, charge point, serial number, grid connection, cable route, civil works section and commissioning step form one continuous file per installation. The state before backfilling is held just as much as visible connection data and raw measurements. Open items stay visible per site until the installation is handed over to the operator or the service organisation.

Infrastructure

Routes, tracks and sections run long, the time window is short, and the ground covers every state that nobody recorded.

Rail construction

The possession lasts four hours, the liability lasts years, and during the possession nobody has time to type.

The templates capture the time window with line, station, track area, work performed, interruptions and remaining items; it is dictated on the track, also without radio coverage, and assigned later. Handing the track back stays a decision confirmed by a person: Gewerkton documents it and never pronounces it.

Tunnelling

In the drive every piece of evidence lasts a few hours before the next section covers it.

Shift handover, drive and lining section are described through section and chainage, with the work phase, the visible state, the operating state and raw measurements. The tool does not classify ground, support or air condition; underground the capture keeps running without a network and moves into the file in full later.

Road and civil engineering

In road construction every decisive layer disappears under the next one, and the crew has moved on before anybody looks at the file.

Section, chainage, layer, delivery, batch, visible state and raw measurements are linked to each other before anything is built over them. Weather, interruptions and photos run along on the same item. Gewerkton documents what was placed and what was measured; whether compaction, evenness or material quality meet the requirements stays a professional assessment.

Water and wastewater

Pipe, joint and house connection disappear into the ground, while the operator still has to maintain the system for decades.

Route, sewer reach, manhole, house connection, pipe, fitting and joint are brought together through chainage, marking and photo. The state before backfilling stands as a check point of its own. Pressure, tightness and other measurements are captured as raw values with unit, method, device and time, without Gewerkton deriving a technical release from them.

Fibre and telecommunications

A wrongly assigned splice stays invisible until one connection, or a whole street, fails to reach the network.

Route, manhole, duct bundle, cable, closure, fibre and end point are linked to each other through their identifiers. Photos secure the occupancy and the visible state before manholes are closed or routes are backfilled. Optical measurements land on the same fibre with method, device, unit and reference; passed or not passed is still decided by the responsible qualified professional.

Structural inspection

A finding is only worth something when it can be found again six years later from the same camera position.

Observation and assessment stay apart: structure, component, location, visible extent, scale and photo belong to the finding, the classification belongs to the qualified inspector. Because the camera position travels along, the development can be compared between two inspections, and areas that cannot be reached stay visible as a limit of the inspection.

Airports

The closure window ends in the morning, whether or not the documentation is finished.

Time window, security area, runway or taxiway section, terminal zone, work performed, interruption and remaining item are captured during the work, also without a stable connection. Material and plant identifiers as well as covered states hang on their own section. Handing the area back to flight operations stays a decision confirmed by a person; Gewerkton documents the state it rests on.

Ports and offshore construction

Between tide and weather window little time remains, and what lies under water or behind the quay wall is out of reach again the next day.

Construction section, weather and tide window, crew, work performed, interruption and remaining item are captured during the work, offline first and assigned once there is a connection. Piling, anchoring and covered installations hang on the section with an identifier and a photo. International contractors report back through the multilingual portal without seeing the whole project.

Industry

In a running works the hour counts: plant, work order and shift have to carry the state of execution onwards without paper lists.

Industrial plants and shutdowns

During a plant shutdown every hour costs, and after the restart every unexplained change costs again.

Plant, unit, work order, shift, initial state, the part removed and the part installed, the identifier and the photo form a chain that can be followed. Interruptions and remaining items pass into the next shift instead of getting lost between paper lists and shouted instructions. The release for restarting stays a human decision; Gewerkton holds the evidenced state of execution.

Cleanrooms

A customer only takes over a zone once entries, cleaning states and connections can be followed.

Room, zone, operating state, surface and cleaning state, connections and raw measurements arise in one pass; the template states neither a cleanroom class nor a hygienic approval. Outside firms take part through a multilingual portal without getting access to the whole project.

Building services

The expensive questions come up where nobody looks any more: above suspended ceilings, inside shafts, between two trades.

Plant identifier, room, visible product data, document references, function step, operating state and raw measurements hang on one item, and before a layer is closed Gewerkton asks for the photo while the pipe is still visible. At handover the plant register and the records move into the operating organisation instead of ending as a stack of folders.

Shipbuilding and maritime installations

In the dock the undocking date rules, and whatever has disappeared into sections, tanks and double bottoms by then is never seen again.

Section, deck, room, tank, welded joint and coating build-up are captured with an identifier, the visible state and a photo before the next section is set on top or the tank is closed. Work steps and raw measurements run along per section, also without a network inside the hull. Classification and acceptance decisions stay with the yard, the owner and the responsible bodies; Gewerkton holds the evidenced state.

Pharmaceutical and biotechnology plants

In a pharmaceutical plant it is not the installation that decides the use but the record, and the record has to fit the qualification that others run.

Room, plant, pipe, material, cleaning state, work step and raw measurement are captured in one item, with visible identifiers and photos before anything is closed. The file hands a structured state of execution over to the operating and quality organisation. GMP assessment, qualification and releases stay expressly with the existing quality systems and the people responsible for them.

Logistics centres and warehouse automation

Conveyors, racking, gates, sensors and controls come from different firms, and what has to be handed over in the end is one coherent installation.

Plant part, aisle, gate, axis, identifier, connection and commissioning step form one continuous file per area; remaining items stay visible at the area until the operator takes over. Photos secure covered routes and visible type plates before anything is closed. Performance and availability records towards the client stay the business of the system suppliers; Gewerkton documents the evidenced state of execution.

High tech buildings

The technology decides the building, and the record that matters sits behind the raised floor, the ceiling and the cladding.

Data centres

In a data centre one missing record can delay the release of a whole zone, although every device was installed long ago.

Room, row, rack, plant identifier, visible serial number, connection and commissioning step hang on one item; cable routes and covered states are photographed before the raised floor or the ceiling is closed. Measurements are kept as raw values with unit, device, method and time. At handover the plant state moves across to the operating organisation without the construction organisation losing its records.

Hospital construction in live operation

In a hospital the site and the operation share the same corridor, and a room can be a building site today and a treatment area again tomorrow.

Building, ward, room, zone, plant, operating state, initial state, work step and connection are brought together in one item. Outside firms document only the areas assigned to them, while open items stay with the zone. Cleaning state and raw measurements can be captured; Gewerkton issues no hygienic, medical or operational release.

Passive fire protection

On the day of the handover inspection the decisive fire protection record has often already disappeared behind a wall, a ceiling or a cladding.

Room, component, opening, penetration seal, door, damper or cable transit are linked with the visible product identifier, the batch, the document reference and the photo before the surface is closed. Function steps and raw measurements can be captured with device and method; classification, suitability assessment and release stay with the responsible qualified professional.

Semiconductor fabrication plants

In a fab an unplanned standstill costs more than many a building shell, and the decisive infrastructure sits in utility levels that nobody opens again.

Utility supply, cleanroom zone, tool connection and covered services are captured with an identifier, a batch, a photo and raw measurements before levels are closed. Outside firms work per zone with a limited view, and remaining items stay with the zone. In substance the pack connects to cleanrooms and building services; releases and assessments stay with the operator and the qualified professionals.

Public sector

The building project ends, the operation stays: the file has to remain understandable across generations and changing firms.

Public estates

The building project ends after a few years, but a school, a town hall, a fire station or a municipal housing block stays in operation for generations.

Building, room, component, prior state, measure, executing firm, document reference, photo and open item form a file that stays understandable for good. Multilingual outside firms can take part in the areas assigned to them without seeing the whole project. At handover the operating organisation receives a structured plant and execution state instead of a collection of folders kept apart from each other.

Serial refurbishment

Serial refurbishment only scales when proving scales with it; across sixty identical flats every exception otherwise costs a day.

Series, component, factory state, load unit, delivery, installation target and flat cycle form one continuous chain from the works to the handover; missing parts and remaining items stay open instead of being quietly filled in. In occupied buildings the prior state of every flat is documented before the first element is hung.

Heritage conservation

Towards the heritage authority, the client and posterity it is the prior state that counts, and it exists only once: before the first intervention.

Initial state, recording conditions, sample area, work steps, materials used and the state afterwards are linked in chronological order, without the template claiming causes, suitability or approvals. Unexpected findings are held as an item of their own with a photo and a spoken description, and the final state can be handed over as a closed file.

Complete documentation and limited access belong together here.

Defence infrastructure

On defence related estates complete documentation is not enough; at the same time information has to stay limited to the areas actually involved.

Estate, zone, plant, component, work order, visible identifier, initial state, the step carried out and the photo are captured as a chain that can be followed. External organisations work exclusively in the project areas assigned to them, and capture can also take place without a running network connection. Gewerkton documents construction, repair and handover; operational assessments and security clearances stay outside the tool.

Existing buildings and restoration

The state before the intervention exists only once; the file has to hold it before drying, demolition or conversion changes it.

Damage restoration after fire or flooding

The initial state after the damage exists exactly once, and every hour of drying and clearing changes it.

Room, visible damage, raw moisture and temperature values, work step, disposal reference and state of restoration are linked in chronological order, with photos from the first entry on. The firms involved document in their own areas, and open items stay with the room. Assessing the cause and the insurance payout stay outside the tool; Gewerkton holds what was in which state at which time.

Dismantling and decommissioning

In dismantling the building itself is the last piece of evidence, and it disappears section by section.

Component, dismantling section, marking, visible state, material reference and transport or disposal record are linked in chronological order; the exposed state is captured before the next section comes down. Finds and deviations are held as items of their own with a photo and a spoken description. Assessing hazardous substances and disposal decisions stay with the qualified experts.
